Julia Tarasyuk is a curator and author specialising in Japanese contemporary art, with over a decade of experience collaborating with museums, galleries and independent art projects in Japan, UK, and Europe.
For the past six years Julia has lived and worked in Tokyo, Japan, where she has launched her art consultancy with a goal to introduce young and mid-career Japanese artists to an international audience and provide insight into the local art scene. With her recent projects and publications she has been actively supporting the exchange between the Japanese and international art communities.
In 2020 she co-founded IKEBANA projects, a series of curated art collaborations, events and retreats inspired by contemporary Ikebana.
Julia is currently based in London where she organizes and curates exhibitions by Japanese artists. Her latest projects include group exhibition New Nature (2022) and Hanadome project (2023) at PATERSON ZEVI, London, and Fumi Imamura solo presentation (2023) at Lyndsey Ingram, London.
Julia is an author of Art Tokyo book published in 2018 and a regular contributor to international art magazines on the subject of Japanese contemporary art.
